CANDIDA BOND SCULPTOR

Candida Bond (b.1971) is an Aberdeenshire based sculptor working across public and private commissions alongside her own studio practice. She trained for six years with the renowned Sculptor David Wynne.

At the heart of Candida’s work primarily is the human figure in dialogue with nature. Her work invites contemplation of harmony, vulnerability, and belonging – reminding us of humanity’s place within a larger, living landscape. Her goal is to provoke emotions and encourage empathy in the viewer.

She works from life enjoying the encounter that takes place with another individual through sculpture. Bronze sculptures are created in clay and plastercine. She also enjoys carving Carrera marble, Cotswold limestone and sandstone.

Candida had a sell out exhibition in the Air Gallery in Dover Street, London.  Followed by an exhibition that was hosted by Chanel in London. She has done a number of life size sculptures for Private gardens and was commissioned to sculpt David Craig OBE life size which sits in Aberdeen’s University Library.  A stone carving of Gaia, Goddess of the woods was lent to Fyvie Castle Gardens owned by the National Trust, and more recently a 5ft Gyr falcon for a garden at an upmarket Farm Shop in Hampshire.
